DJ MASTERS WORKSHOP
Whether you’re just starting out or already playing sets — this is your chance to learn directly from three artists who have shaped Berlin’s electronic music scene. Four days, three instructors, and on the final night, you play together in front of a live audience at ACUD Club.

HOW IT WORKS
Tuesday to Thursday, you spend four hours each day with a different instructor at ACUD Club. Each session is a deep dive into their personal approach to DJing — technique, selection, reading a room, building a set. Every instructor brings a completely different style and philosophy, so by the end of the week you’ll have three perspectives on the same craft.
On Friday night, the club opens its doors. Students and teachers play together in a B2B format — with a real audience. This is where everything you’ve learned meets reality.
YOUR INSTRUCTORS
RETHE Berlin-based DJ and electronic music performer. RETHE’s sets are built on precision, energy, and a deep understanding of how to move a room. As a core instructor at Berlin School of Sound and one half of the RETHE + VOJTO live duo, he brings both technical skill and real-world performance experience. His approach to DJing is rooted in Ableton Live, CDJs, and a philosophy of total creative control behind the decks.
BŁAŻEJ MALINOWSKI Polish producer and DJ based in Berlin with over 20 years in electronic music. Founder of Inner Tension label, released on Semantica, Warm Up Recordings, The Gods Planet, Silent Season, and more. Błażej’s DJ sets are known for their hypnotic depth — deep, layered, and relentlessly atmospheric. He will share how he selects tracks, builds tension across a set, and creates the kind of immersive experience that has made him one of the most respected names in the scene.
PAULA SCHOPF (CHICA PAULA) Chilean-born, Berlin-based DJ, musician, and sound artist with over 25 years behind the decks. Paula started her career at Tresor in 1997 as part of Gudrun Gut’s Ocean Club collective and quickly became a key figure in the cultural exchange between Chile and Berlin’s electronic music world — alongside artists like Ricardo Villalobos and Dinky. She holds a Master’s degree in Sound Studies from UdK Berlin. Her sets are unpredictable, dynamic, and impossible to categorize — house, techno, electropop, ambient, all woven into one fearless story. A regular at ://about blank, Tresor, and Club der Visionäre, Paula brings decades of experience and a truly unique artistic perspective.
PROGRAM
Day 1 — Tuesday, 14 July · 14:00–18:00 Session with RETHE Technical precision, live performance tools, CDJ and Ableton workflows, building energy in a set.
Day 2 — Wednesday, 15 July · 14:00–18:00 Session with Błażej Malinowski Track selection, layering, creating atmosphere, the art of hypnotic mixing, reading a room over long sets.
Day 3 — Thursday, 16 July · 14:00–18:00 Session with Paula Schopf (Chica Paula) Musical storytelling through DJing, genre-crossing set building, vinyl and digital techniques, 25 years of lessons from Berlin’s clubs.
Day 4 — Friday, 17 July · Evening B2B Night at ACUD Club Live event. Teachers and students play together in B2B sets in front of a real audience. This is your stage.

WHO IS THIS FOR
This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn DJing from artists who have been doing it for decades. Complete beginners are welcome — you’ll be learning on professional equipment with patient, experienced instructors. If you already have some skills, this is where you take them to the next level. What matters is that you’re curious, open, and ready to step up on Friday night.
WHAT TO BRING
USB sticks with your music (if you have any — we can help you prepare if you’re just starting out). Headphones. If you have your own vinyl, bring a selection. Everything else is provided.
FAQ
Do I need DJ experience? No. All levels are welcome — from first-timers to experienced DJs. Each instructor adapts to the room. The only requirement is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. By Friday, everyone plays.
Will I really play in front of an audience on Friday? Yes. That’s the whole point. The B2B night is a real event with real people. You’ll play alongside your instructors, so you won’t be alone on stage — but you will be performing. This is where the learning becomes real.
What music should I bring? Bring what you love to listen to. If you’re a beginner and don’t have a music collection yet, don’t worry — your instructors will help you prepare during the week. If you’re more experienced, bring music that represents you. There’s no genre requirement.
Is there a refund policy? No refunds. However, if you can’t attend, your payment can be applied to any future Berlin School of Sound workshop or course. Spots are also transferable to another participant at any time.
