What is this

You’ll build a real synth.
From zero.

In just 5 evenings you’ll go from complete beginner to someone who’s built their own functioning noise synthesizer from scratch — using CMOS logic circuits, a soldering iron, and a lot of creative experimentation.

This is not a kit workshop. You’ll learn why circuits work, how to read schematics, how to experiment with sound and electricity, and how to put it all inside a custom enclosure you design yourself.

Led by Corazón de Robota — Berlin-based sound artist and electronics builder — in the studio space at ACUD Kunsthaus, Berlin-Mitte.

“Build your own electronic instrument in 5 evenings. No experience needed. All materials included. Your synth is yours to keep.”

What you’ll build

A noise/drone synthesizer.
Fully yours.

DAY 01

CMOS Logic Circuits

Oscillators, filters and logic gates built from fundamental components. No Arduino, no kits.

DAY 02

Custom Enclosure

Your circuit in a hand-built housing with potentiometers, switches and audio jacks you install yourself.

DAY 03

Audio-Ready Output

Standard jacks so it connects to your mixer, effects pedals, recording setup — whatever you have.

DAY 04

Yours to Keep

Your completed synthesizer leaves with you on Day 5. A functioning instrument you made yourself.

DAY 05

Knowledge to Go Further

You’ll understand how to modify, extend and build new circuits on your own after the workshop.

DAY 06

Certificate

Berlin School of Sound certificate of completion. 20 hours of hands-on instruction.

5-Day Journey

What happens each evening

Every session runs 17:00–21:00 (4 hours). Each day builds directly on the previous one.

Day
2
17–21:00
Experimenting Sound Hacking
  • Play with different components to “hack” the sound
  • Learn to creatively control pitch, voltage and modulation
  • Discover what happens when you break the rules
Day
3
17–21:00
Soldering Making It Real
  • Move from breadboard to permanent copper board
  • Learn professional soldering technique from scratch
  • Solder your prototype into a solid, lasting circuit
Day

Common Questions

FAQ

Do I need any experience?
None at all. This workshop is designed for complete beginners. We start from zero — no electronics knowledge, no soldering experience required.
What will I actually build?
A fully functional noise/drone synthesizer using CMOS logic circuits. It will have standard audio outputs compatible with mixers, effects pedals and recording equipment. It’s yours to keep.
What if I can’t solder?
We’ll teach you. Day 3 is dedicated entirely to learning proper soldering technique. By the end you’ll be comfortable with it.
Why 5 evenings instead of a weekend?
Perfect for people who work during the day. 5 focused evenings (17:00–21:00) give you 20 hours of instruction without taking time off work.
Can I miss a day?
The workshop is progressive — each day builds on the previous one. We strongly recommend attending all 5 evenings.
When does Early Bird pricing end?
When spots fill. The first registrations get €699. After that, price increases to €999.
What should I bring?
Just yourself and curiosity. Optional: headphones for testing your synth on Day 5. All tools and materials are provided.

⚡ Limited Early Bird Spots

Only a small number of spots available at €699€999. After that, price increases permanently.
