Description
Play What You Can’t Count.
Odd meters. Polyrhythms. Complex time signatures that make your brain hurt. This workshop breaks them down until they feel natural.
Bodek Janke—drummer, percussionist, and rhythm architect—teaches you the foundation for playing advanced rhythmic concepts with confidence and precision.
What You’ll Master:
- Odd meters (5/4, 7/8, 9/8, 11/8 and beyond)
- Polyrhythms (3 over 4, 5 over 4, layered patterns)
- Advanced metric modulation
- Subdivision mastery and internal pulse control
- Applying complex rhythms to your instrument (drums, percussion, any melodic instrument)
- Practice methods to internalize difficult patterns
Walk out solid. After one day, polyrhythms and odd meters won’t intimidate you—they’ll be tools you control.
No matter your instrument: drums, bass, guitar, keys, production—rhythm is rhythm. If you can tap it, you can play it.

About Your Instructor: Bodek Janke
Polish-born drummer and percussionist based in Berlin, specializing in advanced rhythmic concepts, odd meters, and polyrhythmic systems. Bodek has performed and taught across Europe, breaking down complex rhythms into teachable, internalized skills.
His approach: rhythm isn’t magic—it’s math you can feel. And once you feel it, you own it.
Who This Is For:
✓ Drummers wanting to expand beyond 4/4
✓ Producers programming complex beats
✓ Instrumentalists (bass, guitar, keys) exploring rhythmic vocabulary
✓ Jazz/prog/metal musicians working with odd meters
✓ Anyone frustrated by polyrhythms and ready to conquer them
Prerequisites:
Basic rhythm reading helpful but not required. Bring your curiosity and willingness to challenge yourself.
What Makes This Different:
Most rhythm workshops teach patterns. Bodek teaches systems—how to think about, internalize, and create complex rhythms on your own. You’ll leave with a practice framework, not just a list of exercises.
One day. Solid foundation. No more guessing.
